An old proverb says: “If you do not have an elderly in your life, go and pay any price to get it”. We treasure and nurture the richness and wisdom that an elderly brings in our life.
I care about elderly, with passion and compassion, since I was a child. I can say without any exaggeration that my experience in carrying about elderly people goes back to my middle school time. Then, was the first time when, walking home, I met an elderly lady that could use some help carrying a bundle of wood to her house. From then on, for several years I volunteered to help her with chores around the house and in the house, to get groceries, to fix meals, or just to keep her company. I grew up around my great-grandparents and grandparents and I was direct part of their care in the last years of their life.
My professional experience goes back to 1993 when I volunteered in the activities area at a nursing home in Dallas, OR. I provided in home care to elderly through Adult and Senior Services. Later on, while I was working as a chemical engineer, I also provided in home care through privately owned agencies. In 2003, I joined my husband in a common mission of providing care for elderly people, in our home.
